PostCom Influence

PostCom represents its members on all matters that affect a business' use of the mail before such authorities as the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. Congress, the Postal Rate Commission, and all other governmental agencies involved in the development and implementation of postal policies and operations. PostCom serves as the business mailing industry’s "watchdog" and spokesgroup to make sure our national policy makers understand business' interests and needs regarding the role of the mail as part of the nation’s vital economic infrastructure.

PostCom Industry Presence

PostCom is recognized as the nation’s postal leader. PostCom staff are regular speakers at the National Postal Forum, hundreds of Postal Customer Council conferences, MAILCOM, and a host of conferences held by other industry associations. At times when critical changes impacting our members’ businesses are taking place, such as postal rate and classification cases, PostCom conducts numerous educational sessions nationwide to prepare our members and others for the changes to come. In addition, PostCom staff are available to conduct on-site presentations for our member companies on any topic desired.

PostCom’s Instant Information Services

PostCom offers members a variety of instant information services--including access to PostCom’s 24-hour World Wide Web site, PostCom’s "Postal Updates by E-Mail" service, and electronic mail distribution of PostCom’s publications. In addition, PostCom’s staff is always available to provide technical, research, or troubleshooting assistance. MTAC Representation. PostCom represents its members' interests on the joint USPS/industry Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC). PostCom has three representatives on MTAC, as well as PostCom staff representation at all MTAC meetings. In addition, seven out of nine MTAC Steering Committee seats are held by PostCom members. PostCom representation can be found on every one of the MTAC issue workgroups formed to resolve those issues identified as crucial to our members.

PostCom’s Postal Operations Committee

PostCom serves its members through its own Postal Operations Committee (POC). PostCom's POC, which is comprised of the leading industry postal operations managers, helps identify those postal issues critical to PostCom member companies, and formulate strategies for successful resolution. PostCom’s Conferences. PostCom holds regular conferences to help its members deal with the constantly changing postal regulatory environment, help members plan for the future by identifying changes to come, and provide members with network opportunities. In addition, PostCom's Board of Directors meets three times each year (all PostCom members are welcome to attend) to discuss the association's strategies for keeping its members ahead of the competition in the years to come.
